Quoting James Madison and waxing lugubrious in a nuclear armed modern age fraught with its Darwinian threats is easy to talk about. Try governing when you know if there is a vacuum of power someone will fill it and most probably it will be your ass that gets put in a sling. It is not that I disagree with much of what you say I just simply think it is easy to say when your life is not on the line and you are not the one attempting to keep a nation safe!
You make me proud that mom and I are close descendents of James Madison. A reminder of exactly where we get our unsquashable Liberal streak. I agree 100% with everything you said, having thought it privately to myself many times. Unfortunately, our Conservative masters have determined that Mr Manning is to be a tribal taboo subject whatever we may think about it. An additional fallacy to the three you mentioned might be that there ever was anything "free" about our society. Especially when it historically has such a low tolerance for Madisonian Liberals.
