Book It, Dave-o

Nick Turse, award-winning journalist, Harvard fellow and author of The Case for Withdrawal from Afghanistan (Verso), talks about the disparity between the number of books published on the subject of Vietnam during the 60s and 70s compared to what we see in our bookstores today regarding Afghanistan. He also sheds some light on how the content itself has changed, and why.

"Ain't my kid going to war" Americans don't give a damn. DoD SpecOps books DO NOT GET READ because if there's one thing star-whores know about eachother is their intellectual shortcomings. Look at the milblogs: not read, not attended to. Pentagon propaganda is based on Vietnam. They still believe that we "lost" Vietnam because the public got impatient not because our generals are such incompetents. DE Teodoru
